OD.10.563   but Circe has ordained a different journey,

OD.10.564   εἰς Ἀΐδαο δόμους καὶ ἐπαινῆς Περσεφονείης
OD.10.564   to the house of Hades and dread Persephone

OD.10.565   ψυχῇ χρησομένους Θηβαίου Τειρεσίαο.
OD.10.565   to consult the soul of Teiresius the Theban.'

OD.10.566   ὣς ἐφάμην, τοῖσιν δὲ κατεκλάσθη φίλον ἦτορ,
OD.10.566   "So said I, and their dear heart was broken,

OD.10.567   ἑζόμενοι δὲ κατ' αὖθι γόων τίλλοντό τε χαίτας:

OD.10.569   ἀλλ' ὅτε δή ῥ' ἐπὶ νῆα θοὴν καὶ θῖνα θαλάσσης

OD.10.570   ᾔομεν ἀχνύμενοι θαλερὸν κατὰ δάκρυ χέοντες,

OD.10.571   τόφρα δ' ἄρ' οἰχομένη Κίρκη παρὰ νηὶ μελαίνῃ
OD.10.571   Circe came then and tethered beside the black ship

OD.10.572   ἀρνειὸν κατέδησεν ὄϊν θῆλύν τε μέλαιναν,
OD.10.572   a ram and a black female sheep,

OD.10.573   ῥεῖα παρεξελθοῦσα: τίς ἂν θεὸν οὐκ ἐθέλοντα
OD.10.573   passing by us easily. Who with his eyes can perceive

OD.10.574   ὀφθαλμοῖσιν ἴδοιτ' ἢ ἔνθ' ἢ ἔνθα κιόντα;
OD.10.574   a god unwilling going either here or there?"
