OD.11.52   for he'd not yet been buried under the wide-wayed earth,

OD.11.53   σῶμα γὰρ ἐν Κίρκης μεγάρῳ κατελείπομεν ἡμεῖς
OD.11.53   since we'd left his body in Circe's hall,

OD.11.54   ἄκλαυτον καὶ ἄθαπτον, ἐπεὶ πόνος ἄλλος ἔπειγε.
OD.11.54   unwept for and unburied, since other work bore down on us.

OD.11.55   τὸν μὲν ἐγὼ δάκρυσα ἰδὼν ἐλέησά τε θυμῷ,
OD.11.55   I wept when I saw him, felt pity in my heart,

OD.11.56   καί μιν φωνήσας ἔπεα πτερόεντα προσηύδων:
OD.11.56   and, voicing winged words, said to him:

OD.11.65   from the vertebrae and my soul came down to Hades.

OD.11.66   Now I supplicate you by those behind, the ones not by our side,

OD.11.67   πρός τ' ἀλόχου καὶ πατρός, ὅ σ' ἔτρεφε τυτθὸν ἐόντα,
OD.11.67   by your wife and your father, who raised you when you were little,

OD.11.68   Τηλεμάχου θ', ὃν μοῦνον ἐνὶ μεγάροισιν ἔλειπες:
OD.11.68   and by Telemachus, whom you left alone in your palace.

OD.11.69   οἶδα γὰρ ὡς ἐνθένδε κιὼν δόμου ἐξ Ἀΐδαο
OD.11.69   For I know that when you go from here, out of the house of Hades,
